Here is another online dating success story.

Five years ago this month, I met a wonderful man on hotornot.com. We talked on the computer every night for at least two hours. We occasionally spoke on the phone. In October, we decided to meet.

At the time, my children were three and seven years old. He and I lived 450 miles apart, so we met half way between. I brought my children with me. We stayed in a hotel all weekend and there was no sex of course because of the children. He proposed to me
after only meeting once!

In November, I moved here to be with him and we were married four days later. This November, we will celebrate our fifth anniversary. We are still very much in love and things are going great.

So you see, online dating can be a wonderful thing. Though I have also heard the horror stories, and am just very lucky to have found the man of my dreams online,

Hi Mimi!  I am writing with regard to the statement that online dating
doesn't work. I know for sure it does. 

I am a consultant for a DJ/Photo/Video company.  I book parties and from dealing with soooo many brides and grooms, I could tell you that aproximately 1 out of every 7 of our clients met on the internet.  And these are the ones that were honest about it.  I would bet even more of my clients met this way, but surprisingly enough, in 2007 there are people that are still embarrassed to admit it. 

I will also say that from experience, it did work for me.  Although I didn't meet my husband online, I met many nice guys, some of which I am still friends with.  I would say more often than not I met guys that were sincere and genuine and looking for a relationship.  There were the few jerks, but jerks are EVERYWHERE not just on the internet. 

I would recommend internet dating to anyone.  Even if you don't find your Mr./Mrs. Right, you will have a lot of fun going out and meeting new people. You will also get to learn a lot about yourself and it helps to refine the qualities you are looking for in a mate.
